In the spirit of never talking about the right thing on the right day, I’m just going to pretend this post isn’t going up on Valentine’s Day, mmmkay? The dog made it through her surgery just fine, I’m making jelly doughnut cake, and it’s going to be over 40 degrees F today. LET’S DO THIS.
While I do love the blush palette, I must say that it is insanely pigmented. Like…wow. Like, if you use anything other than the tiniest amount, you will look like you maybe have a side job as a hooker.
The cream blush, however, is lovely. In the winter my skin gets so dry that I switch to an all-cream, no-powder makeup routine, and this blush always looks great.
Have you tried liquid lipstick? I wanted to try them out and didn’t want to spend a fortune on something that might suck the big one, so I found some affordable options.
Above we have Wet n Wild liquid lipstick and two from Colourpop. The idea of matte liquid lipstick is great. Apply once and it stays on and looks great all day. The reality is a smidge different for me. Liquid lipsticks tend to be *quite* dry and make my lips look like little shriveled raisins. Creeper, the red one, from Colourpop, is the best I’ve tried so far. It’s comfortable and doesn’t crack or flake off. (The Wet n Wild lipstick is in the shade Nudie Patootie. God I hate that name. The other Colourpop shade is called Instigator.)
Makeup Revolution, sold at Ulta, is so affordable that I really don’t understand why it took me so long to try anything from the brand. This is the New-trals vs. Neutrals palette.
‘Tis pretty. Nothing exceptional in terms of pigmentation or blendability, but still a nice palette with a good color range. I’ve been using it quite a bit lately, especially the peachy shades.
Those are the newest items I’ve been putting on mah face. Everything else you’ve probably heard (read?) me talk about 42 times, so I’ll just keep my mouth shut about those.
See you later!
