So instead of a Photo Friday, which is usually just one or two pictures, today I have a bunch that ain’t got themselves a home. I don’t want to delete ’em, but they just don’t seem to fit in anywhere else. Today they’re all rounded up under the heading of ‘water,’ and that’s that. (I would make more of an effort, but I had an eye exam this morning, and my frigging pupils are still sensitive after those horrible eye drops. Take pity on my poor eyeballs.)
The entire month of March has been wonderfully warm, or at least warm-ish. (Until yesterday. And today. Never mind.) Lakes are opening up, rivers are open, and water is everywhere.
I took the picture below on the 14th of March, and the ice was already melting everywhere.

Another trip out to the woods a few weeks later, and the water was really running.

Also, it was muddy. Very muddy. Mud-almost-yanking-my-boot-off sort of muddy. I enjoy walking in it, actually, who knows why. Squish squash.

We’re under a little cold snap right now, but it’s supposed to warm back up and I can’t wait to get back out there.
Have a good weekend!

  1. Beautiful pictures! And I can almost hear the babbling brooks. That 4th picture with all the gray trees reflected in the water puddles would make an interesting and difficult jigsaw puzzle.

We are also having a cold snap for the next few days, but I have a strong suspicion that our definition of cold snap isn't the same as yours. Have a great weekend.
