Today the wrap-up for the living room project was supposed to be up…but it’s still not finished. Alas. Here are a few sneaky peaks of some of the progress, though. (I’m just really excited about the area rug and am looking for any excuse to show it off.)

This week is super busy for the black spruce crew (family! cheesecake! working on the damn living room!) so I’ll be skipping my usual Wednesday post. I’ve been trying to brainstorm (I should know better than to try and think at this point) ideas about what to write, but anything I put up will just be filler. Not that the rest of what I write is any better than just filler, but hey. Whaddaya gonna do.

I will be back this Friday for Photo Friday, and then next week will be the damn living room wrap-up post. But before I go I have to tell you that there’s been a rabbit hanging around the house and he (she?) is OMG cute. I took roughly 40 pictures of the little dude last week.

There is also a mama fox and her two kits living near the house. There’s a delicate balance between ‘Hey, fox, I’ma take your picture’ and ‘Hey, fox, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE DON’T EAT MY LAST SURVIVING CHICKEN OR MY NEW RABBIT FRIEND.’
With all the wildlife around here it seems like I live in the frigging outback. I even saw a fisher cat a few weeks ago. Look that weird thing up once.
Anyway, I’ll be back here for Photo Friday, and then next week all will be back to normal. Or as normal as it gets around here anyway.
See you later!

  1. What a beautiful floor and rug. While I'm looking forward to the final reveal, I'm sure you can't wait until the living room project is finally finished.

Believe it or not, we have foxes living in our subdivision. They have been here for generations (fox generations, that is) so have adapted. There are plenty of squirrels for them and no chickens. So far, so good. Of course, you have to definitely worry about your chicken and rabbit. Good grief! I looked up fisher cat and that is one scary critter. It sounds like the chicken, cute rabbit and fox need to worry about him. Glad we don't have those varmints around here.

    1. I love seeing all the different animals, but it gets to be a bit much when you have to keep your garbage cans locked up because a raccoon (or skunk. or bear) might get into them or if you have chickens to worry about.

But being able to see foxes in your subdivision is pretty neat, I don't see them that often and I live in the woods!
