I feel like pulled taffy. Or something similar that’s not quite as sticky.

I started about 412 projects at once and now they’re all partially finished and demanding attention at the same time. One by one they’re being wrapped up, but it’s taking awhile. Take the bedroom (rawr) for example.

In December this happened.

I HAVE NOTHING BUT A PUTTY KNIFE AND TIME ON MY HANDS.

So I ripped up the carpeting. It was pretty old and…not exactly ivory anymore.

I nabbed some nice laminate flooring on Black Friday for under $1 a square foot. We rolled out the underlayment (not the correct  underlayment. Look away.) and in under 3 hours…

…had a beautiful new floor in the bedroom.

The room still isn’t finished. A month later and the baseboards aren’t in yet, but we have them. That’s the important part, right? But it’s getting there, and soon the baseboards will be installed and this will be another project crossed off the list.

Hopefully.

See you later!

  1. We just went through that whole process in our girls bedrooms not too long ago.
Our baseboards are in but look totally off and crooked. Oh well! At least our floors look good! ; )

  2. Lovely new floor! Looks like your long frigid winter is at least good for getting indoor projects done. Keep telling yourself that.
