Happy New Year! I wrote this post yesterday afternoon because I wasn’t sure whether or not I’d be hungover today and in any shape to write something. That might have been an overshare.

Anyway! I’ve been working on this shawl for awhile, and finally finished it on the 30th.

When it was finished it looked like a tree skirt. For real. But after a good wet-ironing it stretched out and looked much better. At first the shawl was just going to be green, but when I finished with the green yarn it was much smaller than I was hoping for. So I kept going and ended up using all the acrylic yarn I had stashed to finish it.

And uh…these pictures are colored very strangely. I set my camera’s white balance to shoot better under fluorescent lighting and forgot to change it back before taking these. Oops.

This pattern (free on Ravelry!) is called Terribly Simple, and that is for sure the truth. This was an easy-peasy project to work on while watching TV.

I took these pictures in the bedroom (growl) which has just gotten new flooring. More on that later, as we seem to be doing the Old Bob Vila Routine – as long as we have all the furniture moved out, we might as well…TEAR EVERYTHING OUT AND START OVER.

See you in a few days!

  1. Happy New Year! I continue to be impressed with your knitting projects. I am seldom productive while watching TV except sometimes dozing off for a little nap. Does that count?
