So this seems to be turning into a knitting blog lately, for better or worse. At least it gives me something to talk about. Sometimes I wonder if this blog is going to degenerate into a bunch of us sitting around playing virtual Go Fish. Which now that I said it sounds like an AMAZING idea.

Anyway, yesterday (and more today!) it snowed. Again. I think winter is here to stay, and I’m going to have to get used to it. One of the things I wanted to knit for winter this year was another hat, and I finished this one up yesterday morning. It’s just a big red slouchy hippie hat, based on the beret I made a while ago.

The yarn is some that I ordered online and then couldn’t find a use for. I tried to make a shawl, but after the 3rd time I massively screwed it up I unraveled it and made this hat instead.

It’s a bit bigger around than I was expecting, but I’ll deal. It’s big and slouchy and covers my ears without making me look like a complete dork. (No comments from the peanut gallery, please.)

The hat only used about 1/3 of the skein of yarn, so the remainder is just another added to the growing pile of half-used skeins. I’m this c lose  to knitting a tea cozy to help use up some yarn, which will put me squarely into granny territory once and for all.

See you in a few days!

  1. Snow! Another hat is perfect for keeping your head and ears warm. I love the red yarn against the white snow. So pretty. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I won't even tell you how many years it's been since I've played Go Fish. Do you have a seahorse?
