I have no clue how that happened. Just last week it was August, right?

While I’ve only just begun the holiday shopping in earnest, the husband is already taken care of:

That’s one person done, but the majority of everything else still needs to be done, which means the days leading up to Christmas will be filled with last-minute-everything – my nails will be chewed down to the quick, and I’m guaranteed to get so flustered I’ll go down the same aisle in the supermarket 4 times before I remember to grab what I need.

Aside from shopping, here are a few of my December plans:

– See if I can accomplish anything else on my 2012 List, which probably won’t happen, but a girl can dream.
– Make these whole grain ginger cookies via Texanerin Baking.
– And perhaps make these homemade peppermint patties via She Wears Many Hats.
– And maybe white chocolate peppermint bark.

And why do so many of my goals revolve around food? Please don’t answer that.

I’m also perusing a few charities that I’ll finally get around to sometime in the new year, because I am nothing if not punctual:

– Spend a twenty, and a family in an impoverished nation gets a flock of chickens through Heifer International.
American Red Cross
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
– Local animal shelter

So. Today the tree is going up, and I’m going to deck the shit out of these halls. Here’s to December madness!

  1. What an awesome gift! Also, please tell me how you like the ginger cookies. They look wonderful, especially since my mother likes to use spelt and the recipe says it can be used.
