Boozy Watermelon Agua Fresca

This is a perfect drink for summer - not too sweet, not too strong, and with gorgeous watermelon flavor.

I made this agua fresca using a melon liqueur, but triple sec, tequila, and vodka are all fine substitutions.

This recipe makes 1 quart - if you are planning on serving this to a bunch of people, buy a big watermelon and adjust the recipe accordingly.

Boozy Watermelon Agua Fresca

1 small seedless watermelon
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup melon liqueur

Cut the watermelon into chunks. You should have 5 or 6 cups total.

Pour the water and liqueur into a blender, add the watermelon chunks. Puree until completely smooth. Taste for sweetness - the melon liqueur should sweeten it nicely, but add a tablespoon or two of sugar if necessary. Use a sieve to strain out any seeds and pulp. Chill in a covered container for several hours before serving.

The agua fresca can be served as is, on the rocks, or on the rocks with an additional shot of booze. Yay for summer!
