This week I’ll be posting suggestions for old fashioned or homemade holiday gifts. I’m attempting to post them early enough so that there will be plenty of time to actually make and/or purchase said gift idea, if you find one that floats your boat.

Flat screen TVs do not a wonderful holiday season make, so my gift suggestions will be more along the lines of less costly and more personal. They’re also pretty frugal, so those of you on a budget won’t break the bank.

Are you ready? Are you genki? (If you can tell me what book that phrase comes from, then we’re best friends forever, by the way.)

The first post will be up tomorrow morning, bright and early. In the meantime, here’s a small list of gifts you can make at home without muss or fuss. If you have any more crafty, old fashioned, or homemade gift ideas, let me know in the comments and I’ll add them to the list.

– Baked goods. Because who doesn’t like cookies? Seriously.
– Gifts in a jar if you can’t bake. Super cute, and easy to put together.
– Get your craft on. Do a search for ‘holiday crafts’ and get crackin’.
– While this isn’t homemade, how about something from a local artist or shop? Supporting local businesses instead of global corporations is always a plus, especially during the holiday season.

Check back this week for more ideas and inspiration. If you’re a total Scrooge, then completely avoid this space for the next 7-10 days.
